James Madsen, Founder/President
Residential remodeling is James Madsen’s passion. President and owner of James Barton Design-Build, he rises to every remodeling challenge with solutions that will withstand the tests of time. James’ high standards for quality materials, workmanship and customer service help to assure a successful result. An industry leader, he continues to participate in a variety of local and national associations and education programs to keep up with industry advances.
John Miller, Production Coordinator
A self-described ‘green carpenter,” John worked his way up to his current position as production coordinator. He studied cabinetry at St. Paul Tech and continues to take industry-related continuing education classes. John schedules crews and subcontractors, orders materials, and serves as the homeowners’ contact for issues not handled by the lead carpenters. He loves turning homeowners’ visions into reality and seeing their gratification when a project is done.
Tamra Mueller, Senior Designer
Tamra has a strong background in architectural design, management and interior design, including an Associates of Arts degree in Interior Design and Sales. Her excellent attention to detail and in-depth experience allow her to handle every project from design through construction and to completion. Her on-going education includes:
- Minnesota Green Star Program
- Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing (CAASH)
- Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS)
- NKBA Member (National Kitchen and Bath Association)
- 50+ Housing Council Member
Tamra served as a BATC Parade of Homes judge for ten years, judging award entries in cities outside the Twin Cities.
Pam Schuette, Designer
A design and remodeling industry veteran, Pam attended Dakota County Technical College and Northwest Technical Institute (NTI) where she received an Associate’s Degree in Architectural Drafting and Design Technology. Her on-going education includes:
- Training for the Minnesota Green Star Program
- Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing (CAASH)
- Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS)
Pam is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association and the National Association of Home Builders 50+ Housing Council.
Shari Leubner, Office Administrator
With a banking and mortgage related background, Shari brings the organization skills needed to keep our busy office running smoothly. She finds that each day at James Barton Design-Build is exciting as she confidently handles everything from accounts to human resources. Shari especially loves watching the remodeling projects come together.
